Troop 158 is part of Scouting America (formerly Scouts BSA). We are a welcoming, co-ed troop for youth ages 11–17, offering opportunities for growth through outdoor adventures, leadership, and service to the community.
With over 40 Scouts actively participating, our troop is an active and healthy troop in the New River Valley.
In Troop 158, Scouts experience:
• Outdoor Adventure - From monthly campouts and hiking trips to high adventure destinations like Philmont Scout Ranch, our Scouts learn skills and build memories that last a lifetime.
• Skill Building - Scouts earn merit badges, practice leadership, and gain confidence in areas ranging from first aid to citizenship.
• Community Service - We take pride in serving our community through service projects and cheerful volunteer efforts.
• Fun and Friendship - Alongside the skills and service comes fellowship, teamwork, and the chance to make lifelong friends.
Troop 158 is chartered by St. Michael Lutheran Church in Blacksburg, VA. We welcome new members throughout the year - whether you’re crossing over from Cub Scouts or just discovering Scouting for the first time.
📍 Meetings are typically on Thursday nights at 7:15 at St. Michael Lutheran Church
